There’s a common problem with especially laptop users with their keyboards - the keyboard behaves abnormally?

Is this what you see when you try to type in normally? The Solution to this problem is simple. You’re keyboard is NOT spoilt, but you have pressed the NUM-Lock key of your laptop. Disable NUM-Lock by pressing the NUM-Lock Key of your keyboard again. Once this is done, your keyboard will be back to normal ways!

omg, i feel so stupid now lol i was wondering why it happened when i pressed prnt scrn…now i know i was just hitting the wrong button >.< thanks for the help

Thank you so much! I was quite worried for a little while. . . that I might have to copy/paste the letters for “keyboard error” into Google, since typing wouldn’t have worked, but I left it as “2eyb6ard err6r” and this page came through. Thanks so much again!

Thanks so much! My 3-year old cousin was climbing on the back of the couch and I had laptop on couch and she accidently stepped on keyboard. My mum was cross at me for using it on the couch when she asked me to take care of it. Thought I might have 2 go on pasting 4ever! So glad it’s fixed.

Thank you so much for this! I thought I had a keyboard error and tried uninstalling it but it didn’t help. Was really giving up already but found yr solution and it works fine now! You’re a lifesaver. :)

my ferret was on my bed and managed to press a gazillion buttons, and i just got this laptop yesterday, so i freaked out, i thought she broke it already. yeah i googled 2eyb6ard err6r & this popped up first. thanks muchly!

Thanks- very useful! I didn’t have an obvious num lock key on my lap but I pressed function (fn) and F11 and this worked. In fact once I looked closely at the keyboard F11 has a small keyboard icon on the corner of the key.

It happened to me, I was wondering “OMG!! What did I do?!? My Computer went CRAZY!!” Then I looked and the Num lock key was glowing so then I clicked it and tried typing and it was normal!!

Half the problem solved. However, the other keys i.e. parentheses, slash etc. still behave crazy. Could you please help. In fact I cannot type the at the rate symbol.

Well, this is not just on laptops. I have a large Asus with a Chicklet keyboard and suddenly it started spelling things wrong!, as whown above.
